warwick town & Castle

A trip to historic Warwick and its famous castle can easily be combined with a tour of Stratford-upon-Avon.

Go back in time over the history of the castle and experience the sights, sounds and smells of medieval life as the Earl of Warwick prepares for battle. Visit the gruesome dungeons or the beautiful grounds. A trip to Warwick Castle is a truely memorable experience for the young and old.

The ancient town of Warwick itself also has much to offer its visitor, with the great church of St Mary’s, where many of the Earls’ of Warwick are buried in flamboyant tombs, and the timber-framed Lord Leycester Hospital, which dates from the late 14th century.

Also nearby is the modern city of Coventry  – rebuilt after extensive wartime bombing and now noted for it’s incredible new Cathedral. A visit to the Cathedral is a must, but walking tours of the surviving medieval parts of the city are also fascinating and easily combined with the award-winning Herbert Art Gallery and Museum
